OVERVIEW

Accepting offers is a core skill of an improvisor. However, saying ‘yes’ is not the skill of accepting. Saying ‘yes’ is an action. It’s a tool. Which is useful sometimes, but not always. Accepting and blocking aren’t simply the art of saying ‘Yes’ and ‘No’. Blocking is killing an idea. Accepting is giving the idea life. Many players get trapped in uncomfortable scenes and stories they don’t want to be in because they have said yes, without realising what they were saying yes to and the huge range of other possibilities at their creative finger tips. In this workshop we will explore accepting offers by looking at the possibilities of an offer and our responses.

Patti Stiles in an international improv legend with over 40 years experience. Trained under Keith Johnstone at the Loose Moose Theatre in Calgary, she is a highly respected and beloved teacher and performer.
