Lugares is the Spanish word for Places.

We all have special PLACES. Spaces that are a treasure trove of moments and memories. Spaces filled with secrets and stories.

Lugares invites a member of the audience to describe their special place. The actors take this inspiration and through the creation of thrilling new stories and parallel worlds they will change the way we see the spaces around us and our connection to our own personal PLACES.

Lugares is compelling improvisational theatre. As the performers create and react in real time the audiences become acutely aware that they are witnessing something unique. Skilled storytellers deftly bringing to life stories that are comedic and tender and worlds that are real and utterly fantastical.

Lugares is the result of the collaboration between Patti Stiles (Australia) Felipe Ortiz (Columbia) Michael Kennard (Canada) and Jim Libby (Austria).
It was created and debuted at the Wurzburg International Improvisation Festival in Wurzburg, Germany and has been performed in Dubai (UAE), Bogota (Colombia), Lyon (France), and Melbourne (Australia). It will debut in New Zealand at the Auckland Improv Festival 2026.
