The Covert Theatre is excited to present: The Fun Size Festival - Short Comedy Delights. Join us for giggles and guffaws in 7 - 16 March 2024.
The plays that will be showcased at the Fun Size Festival 2024 are:

Michael McGraw’s Problem with Immortality - written by Angela Pope, directed by Julian Pellizzaro
Staunch - written by Bronwyn Elsmore, directed by Matt Armstrong
The Fool and the High Priestess - written by Elle Collins, directed by Gabrielle Mentjox
Two Men, One Bridge - written by Karl Fleet, directed by Mark Scott

The deadline for submissions for the 2024 Fun Size Festival is 29 September 2023. There are no fees for submission.

Playwrights will notified by 13 October 2023 if their play has been accepted.
Comedy genre only.
Fun Size Festival 2024 - we will open for submissions on 2 June 2023.
Have a funny play inside of you? Then it’s time to write it down! Don’t worry, we’ll get it on stage for you.
Conditions:
Must be an original NZ work (ie: written by a New Zealander) that hasn’t been staged before.
Must be in the comedy genre.
Must be no longer than 15 minutes and no shorter than 2 minutes.
Must email 2 copies of your script - one named, one unnamed for the blind reading.
The Covert Theatre’s decision on selected scripts is final.
If selected, the Covert Theatre helps orchestrate directors, actors, crew. We also provide rehearsal space, performance space and tech crew at NO CHARGE. It’s a super easy and accessible way for your short play to be produced. And there is the potential for hundreds of happy theatre-goers to experience your work!
